Just my 2cents worth.  The video Scott posted does not look like a jo form to me.  I think it is a bo form that is being done with the jo.  I reconize most(virtualy all) of the form movements from a handfull of bo kata.  The advantage or disadvantage of the jo over the bo is the lenght.  Had the kata been a jo kata there would have been more usage of the jo with both hands at one end or with a single hand.  It is not unussual for a group working on a bo kata to practice together using the jo.  It saves space and prevents injuries.  On a side note it looks to be at least influenced by the Ryu Ku Kia(spelling?) system and I know that it is common to perform the same kata with difffernt weapons.  For example the bo and oar kata are the same as in Sukin(spelling) no Kun(bo) or Sukin no Eku(oar).

Although they commit the common movie-firearm fallacy of manually returning the firing mechanism every shot even though it is a semiautomatic weapon.

A brief video about the ad hominem, with an overarching theme of logical debate. Also, an assault rifle.

NSFW (language, violence.)

Master Lewis once pointed out to me that the Jo's great strength, as well as its great weakness, was that it was a "virtual" weapon - it could readily mimic a bo, bokken, spear, escrima, etc. The strength was this tremendous versatility; the weakness that it was never as good as the real thing.

Looking at those forms, I can see why this is a pretty attractive weapon. I can recognize techniques from staff, straight sword, saber, and two-handed-sword forms all in there. It looks like you can do almost anything with it, aside from cutting up fools.

Scott:  That's a great video but it's more of a hard style take on the JO.  It's actually looking more like a small BO form.

Jon:  That's just what I was looking for, Thank  you.

No sir,
I've heard plenty of praises though so I am eager to remedy that at some point.

a group of people unaccustomed to soldiering together can manage to get in eachothers way pretty good.
